Who are Graphis Inc.?

Graphis Inc. was established in 1944 in Switzerland. It moved to New York following a takeover in 1986. It is a publisher of magazines and books and provides awards for the visual communication industry (including graphic design, advertising, photography, posters and packaging).



What was Graphis Magazine/Graphis Jounal?

Graphis Magazine was published starting in 1944 and continuing to issue #355 and then replaced by Graphics Journal (issue #356) in 2018.
In each year between 1952 and 1986, a volume of the Graphis Annual/Journal was produced (35 in total).
There were also specialist books.

Gorey work features in 11 of these publications, including two books specifically about Posters and one about Children’s Illustrations.
