What was Playboy Magazine?

Playboy was probably the most famous American men's lifestyle and entertainment magazine. It was founded in Chicago in 1953 by Hugh Hefner and the final printed issue was published on the 17th of March 2020.
Edward Gorey would be comissioned to create ten original illustrations which would feature in issues between 1963 and 1988. Butterflields Auction House together with eBay would auction off six of these original illustations in June 2002 in a huge Playboy Auction.
